Maeen al Abidi
A prominent Yemeni lawyer and human-rights activist who works to defend fundamental rights and empower women, and has played a significant role in mediation and peace-building in the city of Taiz during the civil war. A member of the Board of Trustees of Jaadal for Peace, she won the 2025 Human Rights Tulip Award, presented by the Dutch Embassy, after being selected among the world’s top three nominees in recognition of her efforts to protect rights and advance peace policies. She was selected by the BBC as one of the world’s 100 most inspiring women in 2022.
